STUDENTS' VIEWS

The following graphs display the results of a survey that was given to MIT students. A total of 168 surveys were handed out to students. We distributed this survey in dining halls and through email. We are not claiming that this is a random sample of students at MIT. By giving out the survey in the dining common areas we were not able to get opinions from many students who take food out. Other potential biases include the fact that we only emailed lists that we subscribe to. In addition the people who chose to answer the email survey may be more (or less) environmentally consious than people who did not answer the email survey. However, we feel like this survey has reached a large number of the student body, and has been helpful in getting a general sense of how students feel about certain issues.
